ABSTRACT
In order to determine the current cattle production conditions of the province that have incidence on the reproductive response of the Siboney de Cuba genotype herds in 2007, 2008 and 2009, the agrotechnical situation, the feeding basis and the herd management were characterized in three milk production territories. In addition, the performance of the main reproductive indicators of 1 915 cows from 30 dairy farms was determined. One third of them belonged to the enterprises Genética Matanzas, Pecuaria Martí and Pecuaria General Gusev (Farm Majagua, UBPC Ramón Paz and UBPC Fe del Valle, respectively). For the statistical analysis of the indicators of the studied indicators the statistical pack Infostat was used and Duncan’s test was utilized to compare the means. Total cows, parturition-insemination, parturition-pregnancy and parturition-parturition intervals were analyzed. Birth and birth rate. The comparison was made within the same province per months, per years and among territories. All the variables turned out to be of interest, with more marked significant differences in the total births (p < 0,001); 548, 435 and 203 for Majagua, Ramón Paz and in Fe del Valle, respectively; and in birth rate (p < 0,001 for Majagua, 85,5 %, Ramón Paz, 68,5 %, and Fe del Valle, 31,7 %, which are in correspondence with the agrotechnical, feeding and herd management conditions of each site.
