ABSTRACT
The work was conducted in an area located in the dairy farm “Niña Bonita”, belonging to the Livestock Production Enterprise La Vitrina, of the Santa Clara municipality, Villa Clara province, in order to diagnose and identify the main pathogens that affect two grasses and a legume associated to two systems of pedestals and to determine the ones with higher incidence during the evaluated period. For such purpose, two one-hectare pedestal systems were randomly sampled: Pedestal (I) composed by Neonotonia wightii (Wight and Arn) Lackey and Brachiaria hibrido cv. Mulato (CIAT-36061) and Pedestal (II): Neonotonia wightii and Pennisetum purpureum CT-115. The evaluated period comprised from September, 2006, to November, 2007, performing 63 samplings. In this sense, the signalization and prediction methodology of the INISAV (2003) was used. The samples with disease symptoms were transferred to the Laboratory of Phytopathology of the Central University of Las Villas “Marta Abreu”, for their later study. The data obtained were analyzed by the descriptive method. In Pedestal (I) the main fungal agents identified in N. wightii were Oidium sp., Cercospora sojina Hara and Rhizoctonia solani Kunh., while Puccina purpurea Cooke and Curvularia lunata (Wakker) Boedijn were detected in the hybrid cv. Mulato (CIAT-36061). With regards to Pedestal (II), in N. wightii only Oidium sp. And Cercospora sojina were observed.
